What a shame! Used to really love going here for special occasions, birthdays, holidays etc. But this time we had two families coming from separate directions so it cost us over £11 in parking charges which we weren't expecting. Food was adequate, but now feel there are better alternatives nearby which we'll probably choose from now on.

Great view from the restaurant. Food good but service was slow. Waited half an hour for a fish burger. Too long. Pleasant staff and good menu choices though. Ideal for walks. Would have preferred not to have a room straight onto the road but slept well. Spotlessly clean

We had a lovely meal here, having visited before and liked it. Food was excellent.
Unfortunately the Waterside Inn now charges £5 per car to park and this is not refundable against food ordered, as it is in other popular locations. With 3 cars of people meeting for lunch this added £15 to the bill, which makes it somewhere we wouldn’t return to.

The most fabulous location with beautiful views and very dog friendly.
I think they were alot busier than expected as it was February and sort of out of season.

Great view of the lake, had lunch which was average, service was good but be warned about the parking, we thought park was free to people eating at the hotel but not the case, we also have a disabled badge but we still got a £100 fine, best avoided, very disappointed the hotel didn’t care, nothing to do with them, even though its there car park

245 pound for looking at car park not good value..didn't eat in restaurants as look like wacky wearhouse pub not for me..not much on tea tray for price..much else can say but rough more like hostel really..and carpet need good clean...and the back of pub need good clean when you look up at rooms

An absolute scam of a place.
Went there and spent £90 on meals but still had to pay £5.60 for parking. We ordered drinks too and the "half pints" we ordered definitely weren't half pints. Very disappointed and won't be returning. The portion size is incredibly small with how much they are charging for meals. A member of our party ordered a meal costing £16 and was done eating in 5 minutes of the food arriving.
We used to eat and stay at this hotel a few times before it changed hands but now it just feels like they are cutting costs with everything they possible can. Sad to see a good place blinded by money.

Need to get more staff behind the bar on busy times. It's probably been said before but it's a great venue just needs managing better. 3rd time I've been and same problem. It's not rocket science to staff up st busy times. You will lose over work staff and impatient customers.

I used to visit quite often, but I won't be anymore after arriving to find they have introduced parking charges for paying customers.
After asking at the bar if we have to pay if we are eating there, and being told yes unfortunately we do, I turned around and walked out. And looking at other Google reviews I'm not alone in this decision.
I don't think they find it unfortunate we have to pay other wise they wouldn't have introduced the parking charges in the first place.
Single handedly the worst business decision they have made.

Had a great winter deal with breakfast and dinner. Location was great and the food was delicious. Most of the staff were really nice but a couple were not very friendly and could benefit from customer service training. Drinks a bit expensive but that didn’t detract from a great stay. Waitress Andi/Andy deserves a mention, she was very good at her job and very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We would definitely return.

Mrs grumpy serving breakfast and asking what exactly we wanted asshe doesn't like waste!and we do? Mmmm quite an uncomfortable breakfast
